We want to welcome everyone to the home page of Eddie Miller Memorial Foundation! On behalf of the Foundation, its Board Members, Advisors, and the community committed to remembering Eddie and making a difference with Suicide Prevention, we thank you for visiting and wanting to be involved.
The summer of 2014, we received a phone call that no family member or friend ever dreams of receiving, our best friend Eddie Miller committed suicide after enduring a long battle with anxiety and depression. During his too brief time with us, Eddie was truly a selfless person whose love, passion, and loyalty left a lasting impression on those who knew him best. Eddie enjoyed cheering for his beloved Browns, Indians, Cavs, and Buckeyes and spending time with his friends and family.
In his honor, we started the Eddie Miller Memorial Foundation to help those that fight the same battle that Eddie did, along with their friends and family that help, support and cope. We have partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (www.afsp.org), an organization that funds research, creates educational programs, advocates for public policy, and supports survivors of suicide loss. They set a bold goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025, providing a sustained, significant investment in research, education, and advocacy. Beyond partnering with AFSP, we will increase advocacy by supporting local suicide prevention in the Cleveland area, through volunteer work and creating awareness for a topic that has historically not been in front of families and households.
Our mission, purpose and bylaws can be found posted here on the website. Eddie Miller Memorial Foundation, in a general way, has the goal of hosting fundraisers that are centered on raising money for suicide prevention in Eddie’s honor.
Sincerely,
Board of Directors - Eddie Miller Memorial Foundation
